As we get older, it becomes increasingly important to fortify not only our bodies but also our minds. One easy and fun way to accomplish this is by playing pub quiz games. A pub quiz is not only loads of fun but also has some brilliant mental and social benefits.

For example, according to Healthline, experts claim that pub quiz players experience a pleasant rush of dopamine when they know the answer to a question. Answering questions can be extraordinarily validating for individuals who struggle with other everyday areas of life. It offers participants a boost of confidence and a sense of accomplishment, something most of us could use more of.

Moreover, your brain is a muscle, and just like the rest of the muscles in your body, it needs exercise to stay in tip-top shape. So pub quiz exercises the brain’s frontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for memory function.

For adults struggling with feelings of isolation, which is quite common among older people,  this is perhaps the most valuable advantage. Pub quiz offers participants a change of scene and the opportunity to socialize with friends. Playing on a team also gives people a valuable sense of community and camaraderie.

Considering all of these benefits we decided to organize two pub quizzes in March 2022, participants from Lithuania were invited to Vilnius, to have a warm evening with others while playing the game. Together in teams, people had discussions on different topics, such as Lithuanian culture, geography, art and music during the second event.

During the third event, the topics were: sport, music, languages, and animals.

To build up the team for a strong partnership, a number of gifts for winners were organized.

After this event, everyone left with some new knowledge!
